Magical Edinburgh venue set to welcome guests back next week

A MAGIC inspired venue is set to return to Edinburgh this year after announcing plans to reopen its doors next week.

The Cauldron, tipped as “Edinburgh’s most magical venue” has announced its Wizard Afternoon Tea Experience for both adults and children to enjoy.

The event is being set up by the Cauldron Co which is a technology led entertainment studio that aims to deliver immersive experiences and products through hospitality.

The Cauldron, located on Fredrick Street, will open next Monday when Coronavirus legislation eases with the venue saying it will be a covid safe environment.

The venue has previously entertained guests in a cocktail inspired experience called The Cauldron Potions Experience.

Two experiences the Arcane Wizard’s Tea and the Little Wizard’s Afternoon Tea will be available for guests to try.

Guest can expect use magic wands to brew their tea as well as being able to try cakes with a pulsing dragon egg as they explore elements of molecular gastronomy.

When guests arrive they will select their “working”, illuminated wand , and experience a Wizard Afternoon Tea Experience at a magic wand-interactive tea tree, which is decked with treats.

Snacks such as Elvin scones wrapped in banana leaves, freeze-dried Skittles, and eclairs with mini pipettes filled with chocolate sauce will be on offer.

Customers can also use their magic wands to  to open  locked puzzle boxes containing the ingredients needed to brew flavourful teas.

The experience encourages tea experimentation with different loose-leaf tea and flower varieties, which are crushed with pestle and mortar and timed with extra-large tea timers.

The venue has said should regulations allow alcohol to be served, guests can enjoy cocktails dispensed via magic wand from the mouth of a unicorn, or a Cauldron signature molecular potion.
