CALA Homes (East) is now inviting househunters to visit its three new showhomes in a region that has become one of Scotland’s top property hotspots.
Inspired by the idyllic surroundings of East Lothian, CALA has launched two four-bedroom showhomes at its Letham Views development in Haddington, and a five-bedroom showhome at Ravensheugh Brae in Musselburgh.
The developer has seen a dramatic increase in interest from buyers across all six of its developments in the area, with buyers drawn to the region’s outdoor lifestyle and larger family homes.
Designed by Blocc Interiors and Showbusiness Interiors, the showhomes offer buyers an opportunity to envisage their lives in picturesque East Lothian and include work-from-home spaces, reflecting the changes in work practices over the past year.
At Letham Views, The Bryce and The Cleland have both been designed with Haddington and its surroundings in mind.
Suzanne Thomas, Creative Sales Director at Blocc, said: “We really wanted to highlight the countryside elements of Haddington in these two homes – in an area that’s rich in history and traditional Scottish architecture.
“The Bryce has a really light and airy feel, we mainly used ivories, whites, creams, beiges and taupe, offset with beautiful pastel elements – it has a subtle country, semi-rural style running throughout to tie it in with the local area.
“We’ve kept it light and bright in the kitchen/dining area, but you have a nice eclectic mix of styles with features like bar stools and an industrial lamp.
“My favourite room in this house is the girl’s bedroom – we’ve gone playful and cute with the bedframe which sits on the floor in the shape of a house, and pastel dotty artwork wallpaper. We had a four-year-old girl in mind, so it’s been styled with a playbox and cuddly toys.
“In contrast, The Cleland has more of a contemporary classic and modern feel. We’ve used much darker tones, dark woods and elements of coppers and golds to give it a luxurious quality.
“The lounge is my favourite room here – it has a statement contemporary fireplace and has a boutique hotel feel to it. The lounge has floor to ceiling curtains, and consoles either side of the fireplace with statement gold lamps.
“We’ve also gone for a gorgeous navy sofa, and have some bespoke gallery-style artwork to give it a grand appearance.”
At Ravensheugh Brae in Musselburgh, the Dewar took inspiration from the town’s landscape with a colour palette of greens and blues throughout the home.
Jackie Summerfield, Managing Director at ShowBusiness Interiors, said: “When you first step inside, you’re met with bold geometric wallpaper, and lighting and styling that creates an impact.
“The kitchen has an inviting family feel with lots of personality. We used a deep earthy green feature paint which then ties into the flow of the space out into the garden. We’ve enhanced the modern style of the open plan space by adding contemporary pieces of furniture and lighting with gold accents.
“Each of the four bedrooms are very different spaces, but they tie in with the theme of the home and the colour palette – the main bedroom is a serene escape with deep blue accents and dreamy wallpaper, while the guest bedroom is more modern and sleeker.
“The third and fourth bedrooms have been designed with a teenage girl and young boy in mind, a space theme for him, and a stylish, pastel and floral theme for her with floral
“At our initial design stage, we intended the fifth bedroom to be a children’s snug or study space, but we reworked it into a designated “his and hers” office space, complete with two desks. We kept the blue and green colour palette here as well with feature wallpaper and bold prints.”
Philip Hogg, Sales and Marketing Director with CALA Homes (East) said: “We’re excited to have launched three new showhomes in Haddington and Musselburgh to showcase some of the best of what CALA’s East Lothian sites have to offer. The area has been a hotspot for our buyers over the past year, thanks to its stunning surroundings and the lifestyle on offer.
“We’d urge anyone interested to book a viewing with our teams as we’re anticipating even greater demand for both developments – the second phase of Letham Views is fully reserved until spring 2021, and we’ve sold more than half the homes at Ravensheugh Brae already.”
With a price-range of around £520,000 — £595,000, Letham Views currently has a range of four and five-bedroom detached houses available. Ravensheugh Brae has a selection of four and five bedroom detached homes on offer, priced from £540,000.
With Musselburgh only six miles east of Edinburgh city centre, and Haddington 18 miles, both towns offer buyers a tranquil escape within easy reach of the hustle and bustle of the city.
The three showhomes are available to view daily. For more information, visit: https://www.cala.co.uk/homes-for-sale/scotland/east-lothian/.
