Allanwater Homes speaks out on COVID property market boom

ALLANWATER Homes speaks out on their impact from the current boom in the Scottish Property market.

As Allanwater Homes prepares to launch two more new developments in Haddington and Chryston, the house development company have spoken of how it’s been affected by the current boom in the Scottish property market.

Caused by pent up demand due to two major lockdowns the property market is now one of the most vibrant sectors in the economy, with sales of new build homes doing particularly well.

Cheryl McGeever, Sales & Marketing Manager for Allanwater Homes, said: “We were delighted to secure a number of “virtual” reservations for properties, some from plan, at several of our developments across Scotland. This went on until June when restrictions were relaxed, and after that it became even more of a surge of enquiries and actual reservations.

“As a result of this demand, we were delighted to secure sell outs at our developments at Heartlands, West Lothian, in Rumblingwell, Dunfermline, and at The Views in Saline in Fife.

“We’re now selling from our final phase at Silver Glen in Alva which has been another very popular development for young families, with another development in Alva coming later this year.”

Cheryl remarked that activity last year had certainly been busier over what would normally have been the quieter summer period, where usually there is a lull until the schools go back in August: “It was a very strange and challenging year, but like many housebuilders we have been very fortunate in having an upside to it, which is an increased demand for our properties.

“This is still filtering through into sales levels for 2021.”

Cheryl added that 2020 had seen Allanwater Homes 40th Anniversary, but that the pandemic had prevented any celebratory events on site: “although we were not able to have any special gatherings to mark this milestone, we are “celebrating” by branching out into new areas of Scotland for Allanwater Homes.

“We’re very excited about these new developments which will further strengthen our brand and introduce our homes to many more customers.”

Cheryl paid tribute to the hard work and resilience of her sales team over the past year by commenting: “It has certainly been a different way of working for us all, but our dedicated sales team have done a fantastic job of adapting to the new requirements.

“We’ve had several Trust Pilot five star reviews from recent customers on their level of service which is a brilliant achievement, and shows team work at its very best.

“We certainly shouldn’t forget our Site Managers and skilled tradesmen tasked with constructing the homes who have also faced the challenges of staying safe and adhering to social distancing whilst working on developments – they too should be very proud, and we thank them.”

At Allanwater Haddington, a selection of luxury, energy efficient, three and four bedroom bungalows, together with three bedroom villas, are on offer.

Soon to be launched Allanwater Chryston will see a 68 home development of three to five bedroom villas aimed at growing families, re-sizers and professionals.

Other current Allanwater Homes developments are situated at Stirling, Cambusbarron, Alva and Alloa.
