FASCINATING time-lapse footage shows a motorist’s commute home in the midst of Storm Darcy.
Ricki Neill captured the footage on his dash-cam as he was heading back home from Glasgow city centre to Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire on Monday night.
The 45-year-old’s journey usually only takes 20 minutes to get home but this time the trip took over an hour due to the weather conditions.
Ricki, a director of a design and advertising company, said he was lucky if he even managed to hit 30mph during the entire journey.
The video shows Ricki’s car being hammered by snow as he makes his way along the motorway with low visibility.
Some moments in the clip appear so dark, Ricki could barely see what was in front of him.
Throughout the footage, the car powers through the severe weather condition, alongside many other commuters battling the same storm.
Ricki’s clip has been viewed over 1.9 million times since it was posted onto Twitter on Monday night.
Speaking today, Ricki said: “When I went into work at about 6:30pm there was no snow and within about 30 mins there were buses and cars struggling to get up the hill just next to my work.
“So when I was driving home I thought it would be a good idea to record my journey home just in case there were any collisions etc.
“I clicked on the record button not realising it was still on the time lapse mode from when I used it last.”
Twitter users were impressed by the footage, although many didn’t realise it was a time lapse video.

Darren Gardiner wrote: “ Nae wonder it’s scary driving at that speed.”
Yuya Fund commented: “Amazon delivery guy when you order same day delivery at 11:59pm.”
Ricki added: “It’s funny, a lot of people actually think that I was driving at that speed.
“My two sisters even text me saying I was an idiot to be driving that fast in those conditions.”
“It’s obviously a time lapse… I drive like Miss Daisy.”
