HILARIOUS video shows the moment a dog owner is fooled by his pet’s Oscar-worthy performance into thinking his pooch is dead.
Lee Brown was caught on camera looking panic-stricken after his American Staffordshire terrier Pablo became limp and lifeless while they were watching TV on Wednesday.
The duo were at home in South Shields, Tyne when Pablo decided to put on the convincing show, leaving Lee fearing the worst.
In the video, the 11-month-old pup can be seen lying with his body on the couch, while his head is hanging down towards the ground.
A panicked Lee can be seen looking at Pablo with a worried expression as the pooch remains completely still.
Pablo then begins to slide off the seat keeping his body completely still.
A panicked Lee puts his hand on Pablo’s waist and can be heard calling his beloved pets name.
Even during this, the mischievous pooch refuses to even flinch causing Lee to shake the him, desperately trying to bring him to life.
But Pablo remains in character and only at the last minute, when he is about to hit the floor, he breaks character and bounces back up.
A relieved Lee lets out a sigh before looking at his partner saying: “F***** hell, I thought he were f***** dead there.”
Lee’s partner, Kayleigh Ford, can be heard replying: “You f****** idiot.”
Speaking today Kayleigh explained that Pablo “plays dead all the time” and usually when he is about to get in trouble.
She said: “He does it all the time. Soon as he’s gonna get wrong. [He] pretends he’s ‘dead’.
“He couldn’t have been in a deep sleep because literally a second before hand he’d been nibbling his dad’s socks
“I think he knew he was going to get wrong.
She added: “He’s certainly a character. He does it when he knows he’s going to get wrong.
“He hardly sleeps. He’s really hyper.”
Kayleigh posted the video on Facebook on Wednesday, writing: “I’m sorry like Pablo.
“But playing dead is one step way too far.
“Best video ever man.
“Can’t stop watching it hahahahha.”
The clip has gone viral and attracted over 121,000 views in 24 hours – along with hundreds of comments from tickled social media users.
