LIVINGSTON have snapped up former Hearts striker Gavin Reilly on an 18-month contract.
The 27-year-old has joined the in-form Lions following an unsuccessful stint at Carlisle United, finding the net just once in 21 outings.
Reilly has most recently been plying his trade in English football with the likes of Bristol Rovers and Cheltenham Town, but previously enjoyed spells with St Mirren, Dunfermline, the Jambos and Queen of the South in Scotland. The waspish front-man boasts 68 goals in the SPFL.
And Lions boss Davie Martindale revealed the signing was several years in the making.
Martindale lauded: “Gavin is a player I’ve been trying to sign in most transfer windows since he moved away from St Mirren a few seasons ago.
“I nearly had him signed in 2018 but he opted to go down to Bristol Rovers and, at the time, it was a very good move for him.
“He always caused us problems when he was playing against us.”
Reilly, who will wear the No. 20 jersey, could make his debut against Ross County on Saturday as Livi seek their eighth successive victory in all competitions.
