HEART-stopping video captures the moment a lorry with a “passed out driver” veers onto the wrong side of the road before ploughing into a car and almost crashing into a petrol station.
The dramatic moment took place next to a BP garage in Duxford, Cambridgeshire on Friday.
It allegedly occurred after the driver began “choking on food” and “passed out” at the wheel.
The lorry was caught on dashcam colliding with one vehicle before skidding directly towards the cam car, who missed being crushed by inches.
As the video begins, the cam car is seen approaching a BP garage with the lorry in the distance.
Suddenly, as the cam car gets closer, the truck can be seen veering over the central line of the road into the path of the vehicle ahead.
The car attempts to move, however the lorry smashes into its side, sending the vehicle spinning off towards the petrol station.
Bits of debris shoot through the air and a horn can be heard sounding loudly.
However, the truck keeps moving and heads directly towards the cam car.
It hurtles towards the car and the driver exclaims: “S***”, however it just misses the front of the vehicle and rolls straight past.
As it does so it reveals a trail of destruction left behind and the driver shouts: “F*** me” .
The shaken motorist then pulls into the petrol station, lucky to be alive.
Photos taken after the incident show how the lorry came to halt in some trees.
One image shows debris from the truck strewn across shrubbery near the accident site.
The shocking scene was shared on social media by a local community page, who claimed the impact had caused a power shortage.
Spotted in Duxford shared the clip and said: “This is how the phones/Internet were wiped out in Heathfield on Friday. Imagine if it had gone into the BP!”
The footage has stunned social media users.
Alain Mscaux wrote: “Wow pretty scary having a huge lorry heading right for you.”
Debbie Hare added: “Jesus, was anyone hurt?”
And Steve Carter said: “Hope the lorry driver and the car driver and any passengers are okay.”
A spokeswoman for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: “We were called at just after 4.15pm on Saturday (16 October) to reports of a collision involving a lorry and two cars in Royston Road, Duxford.
“The lorry then careered into a ditch causing damage to a number of telegraph poles.
“Officers attended and the road was closed while the lorry was recovered. No one was injured as a result.”
