CALA (EAST) SWEEPS UP ‘PRIDE IN THE JOB’ AWARDS

SIX site managers from a distinguished UK Homebuilder are celebrating after they each received a prestigious industry award from the National Home Building Council (NHBC).

Site managers from CALA Homes (East) have all been recognised in the 2020 Pride in the Job Quality Awards for their contribution to creating homes of exceptional quality in the Edinburgh and East Lothian area.

Craig Donaldson of Boroughmuir (Edinburgh), Mark Foley of The Crescent (Edinburgh), Ian Malcolm of Law Gardens (North Berwick), Kenny Reid of Ravelrig Heights (Balerno), Alex Sinnet of Kingfisher Park (Balerno) and Ian Welsh of Waterfront Plaza (Edinburgh) developments have all been singled out as the top performers in the country.

The six winners are among 17 CALA site managers to win one of this year’s prestigious NHBC awards with a total of 11,000 site managers across the UK assessed this year.

They will now go through to the next stage of the competition, the Seal of Excellence, the winners of which will be announced later this year.

The Pride in the Job Awards, now in their 40th year, are one of the highest industry accolades a site manager can receive.

Craig Lynes, Managing Director for CALA Homes (East), comments: “These awards recognise our unwavering commitment to creating homes of the highest standard and are testament to the hard work of our site managers, as well as their wider teams and subcontractor partners.

“The past few months have been challenging for us all, but the commitment of our teams to deliver the best possible homes for our customers has not diminished. My thanks go to all our awarded site managers and their teams for taking pride in their jobs, and delivering exceptional developments across Edinburgh and East Lothian.”

As well as undergoing spot checks of the day-to-day running of their site, each site manager is assessed across 37 different areas of site management, including technical knowledge, quality and consistency.

Last year Mark Foley enjoyed success through the Pride in the Job Quality Awards after winning both the regional and UK national award in the Multi-Storey Builder category for overseeing the build at The Crescent in Edinburgh.
