Edinburgh attractions clinch top spot at TripAdvisor awards

THE ROYAL Yacht Britannia and its sister ship Fingal, are celebrating after both being recognised by the annual Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.

The Royal Yacht Britannia remains Scotland’s leading attraction, while the newly opened Fingal was also named Edinburgh’s best hotel.

Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards reflect both venues now being in the top 1% in the world in each respective category.

The travel site compiles reviews and ratings from across the board and uses them as the criteria for judging.

It is the first time Fingal has received the prestigious award, having just opened last year.

The luxury floating hotel also continues to retain the top spot of the capital’s best hotel on Tripadvisor, while The Royal Yacht Britannia is also its top paid attraction when it comes to ‘Things to do in Edinburgh’.

Britannia’s Chief Executive Bob Downie said:“The true test of quality is that perceived by your customers and our most important asset on both ships is the quality of the relationships that our great team have with them.

“I am particularly pleased for our crew on Fingal as this recognition comes not long after it was named as Scotland’s Best New Hotel 2020 at the Prestige Hotel Awards, a fantastic achievement in the first year of opening.”
