SINGER Amy MacDonald has revealed she is being used to help teach German kids English, after spotting herself featured in a school textbook.
The Scottish star made the discovery after a German teacher shared snaps showing the 32-year-old splashed across the school book’s pages.
MacDonald features in a comprehension exercise designed for high school children that asks questions about the popular singer’s life.
The ‘This is the Life’ singer said she “laughed” when she saw the book, adding: “And they spelled my name correctly, which can’t be said for most publications in this country.”
Photos show a page from the book which features a picture of MacDonald along with a listening exercise with questions about her life.
The textbook was brought to the singer’s attention by teacher Annie Ölsner from Dresden.
She tweeted photos of the school book yesterday saying: “So I’m an English tutor and let me tell you. I gasped – One of my 7th graders had the task to describe pictures on the other book page and my gaze drifted off and.There she was.
“Why didn’t I learn about @Amy__Macdonald in school? 11/10 would love to work.”
Amy’s fans were less surprised however.
@jjenner73 said: “You are a legend so why not.”
@jhendy_10 added: “That’s class.”
And Fergus Moore said: “You are really popular in Germany.”
“I got really excited when I saw the exercise was about her, resulting in my students being very confused.
“I explained how cool I think it is to have Amy MacDonald in an English book that is used in many schools all over Germany.
“They didn’t quite know who Amy MacDonald was, so I did what I always do: took out my phone and played: This is the Life for them.
“They immediately recognized it, which made me really happy.”
The Scots star has enjoyed huge success over in Germany.
Her 2007 song ‘This is the Life’ went platinum there, selling more than two million units.
