Top Edinburgh-based fine dining restaurant with rooms, 21212, is celebrating after being named as one of the top 100 restaurants in the UK by leading travel guide, Hardens Best UK Restaurants 2020.
The travel guide is over 29 years old and based on a carefully curated survey of 50,000 reports from a national poll of 7,500 diners.
Edinburgh regained its title as Britain’s No.2 restaurant city outside London, judged both in terms of the total numbers of entries in the guide and in terms of the total top scoring entries for any single city.
Restaurant Martin Wishart and Number One at Balmoral Hotel were the only two other Edinburgh restaurants included in the guide.
Chef Paul Kitching said: “As 2019 and our tenth year on Royal Terrace comes to a close we are delighted to end it on a high as we celebrate being named as one of the top restaurants in the UK!
“2019 has been a very busy year for us and full of anniversary celebrations so as we move into our eleventh year and 2020, we look forward to see what the next decade has in store for us.
“Thank you to everyone from Harden’s for including us on the list and congratulations to the other brilliant restaurants included in the list.”
Co-founder of Harden’s, Peter Harden commented: “This is an exciting time for the quality UK restaurant scene, with a feeling that expectations amongst diners continues to rise ever higher and a sense that the trade is rising to the challenge of meeting those expectations.”
Harden’s Best UK Restaurants 2020 is now available from most good book shops and available online.
