TWO LUXURIOUS establishments have announced tickets are on sale for a new golfing challenge and charity dinner in support of Heart Research UK’s Heart of Scotland appeal.
The full day affair stretches from the bougie Archerfield House’s links golf course in East Lothian to Edinburgh’s Balmoral hotels’ ballroom.
The lush event will see the great and good of Scotland rub shoulders as they raise money for the charity which helps pioneering research into the prevention, treatment and cure of heart disease.
The events, sponsored by Hamilton & Inches, Scotland’s leading luxury jewellery house and silver experts, will commence with the Open Hearts of Scotland Challenge at Archerfield Links.
Teams of four will compete on the Dirleton Links, one of the most exclusive courses in Scotland, for an afternoon of competitive golf and camaraderie. With sweeping fairways and menacing bunkers, the DJ Russell designed Dirleton Links poses a thrilling and testing challenge to any golfer.
Following a day out on the fairways, teams and guests will enjoy a private transfer to Edinburgh for the inaugural Open Hearts of Scotland Charity Ball at The Balmoral.
An evening of fine-dining and world-class entertainment will take place in the grandeur of the Sir Walter Scott Suite promising a night of unrivalled glamour.
Richard Cooke, General Manager of The Balmoral said: “I’m thrilled to be able to champion such a wonderful cause and to launch this event in partnership with Archerfield. Heart disease has directly affected my family and thus it gives me great pleasure to be able to support these two new events.
“This will be a wonderful day where friendships can be made and enhanced whilst at the same time contributing to correcting the alarming statistics of heart disease in Scotland”
The evening, which will be hosted by celebrity charity ambassadors, begins with a champagne and canape reception, followed by a three course meal and entertainment. There will also be an auction of exclusive, money-can’t-buy experiences.
Every day, 41 people die from cardiovascular disease in Scotland, accounting for the deaths of more than a quarter of all Scots. The Heart of Scotland appeal aims to reduce this statistic by providing vital medical research and support for those suffering.
The Open Hearts of Scotland Challenge and Charity Ball will take place on Thursday 28th May 2020.
Teams of four for The Open Hearts of Scotland Challenge cost £1500, including a £500 donation to the Heart of Scotland appeal, and tables of 10 for the Charity Ball are £2000, including a £500 donation to Heart Research UK.
