“Hargi birtdly! “Nail artist brands herself “thick as s***” after hilariously bungling gran’s birthday cake

A NAIL artist has branded herself “thick as s***” after hilariously botching her gran’s birthday cake.

Skye Groves bought a set of candles from Asda which she thought spelled out Happy Birthday.

But when the 22-year-old got home she couldn’t understand why the letters didn’t make the words “happy” and “birthday”.

The best Skye, from Leicester, could come up with for her 73-year-old gran, Jeanette, was “Hargi Birtdly”.

She took a snap of the misspelled greeting on top of her self-made chocolate and Oreo and posted it on social media.

Skye ranted: “@Asda u are s***. It doesn’t even read Happy Bday!! Good job my Nan is visually impaired.”

A very embarrassed Skye had to return to social media when her dad realised five minutes later that the £1 packet of candles spelled “Birthday Girl”.

Skye posted a picture of the cake with the letter correctly arranged and the caption: “Nevermind! I’m thick as s***.”

The pictures of Skye’s meltdown surfaced on Twitter, posted by friend Rory Lane.

Rory captioned his post: “Screaming.”

Since then, the post has clocked in over 32,000 likes and 5,000 retweets, being well received by Twitter users who have found the pictures of the cake hilarious.

@EbenMarks tweeted: “Getting yellled at for laugh-shaking by my poor, non twitter-brained partner who’s trying to sleep was a good reason to stop reading Twitter in bed.”

@AaronJaackson said: “All future birthday messages must read Hargi Birtdly.”

Referring to a form of language impairment, @DDIGITALMEDIA commented: “Never seen a birthday cake with Aphasia before.”

@laylabyclapton posted: “I like Hargi Birtdly better.”

Speaking today, Skye said: “In my defence it said Happy Birthday on the box they came in, not Birthday Girl. Safe to say I need to go back to school.”
