Shocking moment Range Rover driver shunts disabled man’s car – then “leaves details” on blank piece of paper

A DISABLED motorist caught a Range Rover driver on camera as she stuck a blank piece of paper on his windscreen following a parking shunt.

The driver of the £37,000 Evoque knew she had been seen reversing into another car and pretended to leave her details.

But when Rehan Siddiqui returned to his vehicle he discovered the piece of paper was blank.

Rehan, who was born without hands and wears artificial legs below the knee, said he was disgusted by the other driver’s behaviour.

He and his family were shopping at a Marks & Spencer store in Slough, Berkshire, on November 3 when the incident happened.

Rehan’s dashcam was still recording as the Range Rover driver accidentally reversed into his vehicle.

The driver parked her vehicle again and gets out to inspect the damage, which was little more than a scuff mark.

Despite that, she can be seen reaching into her car, fetching a piece of paper, and tearing part of the sheet off. The woman makes no attempt to write on the paper and the video footage shows no evidence the paper has been written on.

Rehan posted a picture of the piece of paper, which matches the fragment seen in the video.

Rehan, 44, posted on social media: “The lady who hit my car clearly knew plenty of people had seen her hit my car as she got a piece of paper from her car and placed it on my windscreen in the pretence that she was leaving her details… her piece of paper was blank.”

Appealing for information about the woman, he added: “Hitting someone’s car, causing damage and then pretending to leave details and leaving is not a nice thing to do.”

Neets Sugar responded online: “Gosh – that wouldn’t even cross my mind. People know all the tricks, looks like she’s done that before then the scammer! Cheek. Well worth getting a dashcam.”

Dionne Cheyne wrote: “Oh my god… how dishonest! Hope she gets brought to justice.”

Tina Robinson said: “I must get a dashcam. Shocking how dishonest people are. Well, she will get a nice surprise soon.”

Linda Greenaway Walters added: “Oh wow the audacity of leaving a blank piece of paper. So glad you have a camera installed, get it sorted ASAP!”

Rehan, who was born without hands and wears artificial legs below the knee, said he was disgusted by the other driver’s behaviour

Rehan said today: “I felt disgusted that someone could cause damage to someone else’s property and then pretend to do the right thing.

“I have contacted an accident incident management company who have found the lady’s details and her insurer using the dashcam footage and are dealing with the matter.

“I feel sorry for those who don’t have a dash cam when there are people like this around who have no conscience.”

Rehan said he had also reported the matter to police.
