Moment biker slides off motorcycle to avoid high speed head-on smash

HEART-stopping video shows a biker slide off his motorcycle to avoid a head-on smash on a narrow country road.

The clip shows a car taking a bend when a biker coming in the opposite direction suddenly appears on a collision course.

The biker slides to avoid the car on the country road.

Realising a crash cannot be avoided the biker tilts his vehicle and slides on to the road, missing the incoming car by inches and escaping any injury.

The incident was caught on dash cam by the driver from Manchester who wishes to remain anonymous.

The crash happened as the father and his daughter, seven, were travelling to the Dubfarm VW Weekend near Nantlle, Caernarfon, about 20 minutes from the crash site.

 

The driver, 29, posted the clip to a closed Facebook group on Sunday saying: “Who’s at fault here guys.”

The short clip shows the car driver making his way through the winding country roads.

The driver approaches a blind corner where he encounters a motorcyclist riding at a similar speed.

Moments before impact the biker leaps from his motorcycle to avoid the full impact of the car.

Then the car can be seen driving over the bike as the dash cam shudders.

The clip has divided many in the comments with people blaming both driver and rider.

One commenter said: “50/50, but good reactions on both sides.”

Just one of the many comments that flooded the post.

A second commenter added: “50/50 you were both pegging it!”

A third commenter wrote: “Both, simple as that, on roads like this expect the unexpected, be ready to stop at anytime, in no time.”

The driver today said he was shocked by the incident.

He said: “I was in shock. I have never experienced anything like that before. My seven-year-old daughter was shook up by the incident. 

“I don’t know who is at fault. I’m going to wait for the assessor to determine that.

“The police arrived and breathalysed both of us and we were both fine.

“The car was written off as the bumper, bonnet and side of the car had been damaged.”
