Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo will walk a Europa League suspension tightrope in Thursday’s crucial visit of Midtjylland.
The former Charlton playmaker picked up his second booking of the qualifying stage in last Thursday’s 4-2 first leg victory in Denmark, having also been cautioned during the home win over Progres Niederkom in the second round.
UEFA rules state that players will incur an automatic one-game ban should they collect three yellow cards across three different games.
Aribo has made a hugely encouraging start to life at Ibrox after joining on a four year deal during the summer, scoring three goals – all of which have come in Europe – in seven games.
Manager Steven Gerrard has been impressed by the player, saying: “He’s got potential to be a top, top midfielder for sure. He’s got all the attributes.”
