Footage shows steward wearing “Michael Jackson smooth criminal” football boots whilst working at match

BY JOE HUTCHINSON

BIZARRE footage captures a steward appearing to patrol a crowd – whilst wearing Nike football boots.

The clip shows the steward walk back and forth in Ibrox stadium, home of Rangers FC, with his boots on full display.

Filmed directly in front of the away support, fans who’ve spotted the steward can be heard wondering about the steward’s choice of footwear, whilst he continues smiling.

The footage was taken by Sean Nicol and later shared to his Twitter page during a match between Rangers and Hibernian on Sunday.

His clip has racked up more than 289,000 views.

Sean captioned the post: “Why we never subbed this boy on I’ll never know @HibernianFC. What a disgrace.”

The clip shows shows the steward shaking hands with a colleague and walking over to other stewards on his right hand side.

The video then zooms into what the man is wearing, which turns out to be Nike shoes with studs on the bottom.

He can then be seen walking in front of the away fans, laughing and joking with the other stewards.

The steward then turns away as fans can be heard in the background, believed to be questioning his choice of footwear.

Sean’s video has also received a mixed response from multiple Twitter users.

Twitter user @Paisley1903 said: “Is that a pair of black and white Michael Jackson Smooth Criminal shoes?”

@iDave1875 replied with; “Ready to two-foot any pitch invader”

@retro_gers said: “He’s some guy, could’ve came on and scored the day”

One user claimed the steward was a “genius.”

@bri663 tweeted: “Hold on though, could be genius, if he has to chase across the field, he’s going to catch the guy in the JD Sports gutties”
