The University of Dundee has been named Marketing Team of the Year at the Heist Awards 2019, the main awards ceremony for marketing in the United Kingdom higher education sector.
The award was presented at a ceremony in Manchester last night.
Dundee’s submission was partly based on the results of a global marketing campaign to raise awareness of the University and city as a destination, which has produced remarkable results.
International undergraduate student numbers have increased by 62% from 2015/16, while postgraduate student numbers are up 95% from 2015/16. That has meant hundreds of new students arriving in Dundee from all over the world.
Further work which contributed to the award included a refresh of the University brand and innovative ways of working across the entire University to boost global reputation.
Rebecca Trengove, Director of Marketing and Communications at the University, said: “We know we have a great offer as a University and a city, it is just a matter of us getting that message out more around the world. Our marketing team has made a tremendous effort to do that, with help from colleagues across the University, and we have delivered very impressive results.
“This award is recognition for the whole team and our colleagues.”
The Heist Award for Marketing Team of the Year follows recent success at the Herald Higher Education Awards where Dundee won PR/Marketing Campaign of the Year for the hashtagDiscoverDundee campaign, as well as four other awards including Higher Educational Institution of the Year.
The Heist Awards are hosted by Havas Education, part of one of the world’s largest communications networks (Havas Group).
