A FOUR-YEAR-old has given her seal of approval to The Galloway Pie, created by a Dumfries-shire world champion baker – that is being prepared for the Galloway Country Fair.
Holly Brynes, approved of the delightful Scotch Pies served up by Kerr Little when he visited Drumlanrig Castle recently.
The Galloway Pie is from The Little Bakery, Dumfries and is the first Galloway Cattle Society accredited product developed in connection with Real Galloway Beef quality assurance scheme.
Thousands of visitors are expect to descend on the grounds of Drumlanrig Castle for this years Galloway Country Fair during August 17-18.
The fair will offer lots of delightful treats for foodies with focus on local Dumfriesshire produce.
It will also have high-octane stunts with World Champion trail bike rider Dougie Lampkin MBE and quad bike stunt man Paul Hannam will thrill visitors with breath-taking jumps.
Visitors will be spoiled for choice with an array of food and drink suppliers across the grounds of the Fair sponsored by Duncan Plant.
The Fair has also secured support from the Connect Local Regional Food Fund this year meaning visitors can sample and buy from a wider range of Galloway suppliers.
The culinary whizz with a passion for Galloway Beef, will be giving Fair-goers an exclusive taste of recipes making the most of the native cattle breed.
Anna Fergusson, Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate Manager, said: “We’re delighted to have both Kerr and Fraser showcasing Real Galloway Beef in various dishes – including award-winning Scotch pies, which will be a real treat for visitors.
“And with live demonstrations provided by Fraser Cameron, Auldgirth Inn, Forager Amy Rankine, Crafty Gin Distillery and Ninefold Rum – visitors will be able to take top Galloway culinary tips home with them.”
Regular attendees to the Dumfriesshire Fair, sponsored my Muirhall Energy, won’t be disappointed as a number of event favourites will return for 2019. From Elite Falconry displays, Borderlines fishing demos, and horse whisperer Grant Basin to Stars Dog Agility and Terrier Racing, Galloway Country Fair caters for all.
And not forgetting the free kid’s activity zone from Team Challenge and dedicated craft, food and drink trade tents with live demonstrations across the weekend – revellers are set for an action packed day out.
