Hibs head coach Paul Heckingbottom has revealed that the club are hoping to clinch the loan signing of Rangers winger Glenn Middleton.
The 19-year-old had been expected to join Dutch outfit NAC Breda on a temporary deal but was an interested spectator at Easter Road as Hibs beat St Mirren 1-0 in their Premiership opener.
Heckingbottom, who has been forced back into the transfer market with Martin Boyle set to undergo another knee operation on Tuesday, said: “He is someone we’ve spoken to Rangers about and we’d be keen to do something.
“It would be a loan, he is someone who Rangers value highly and if we can get him, we’ll do our bit in terms of pushing him and trying to develop him and he’d do his bit with his ability and qualities he can bring.”
