JAKE MULRANEY has vowed to repay the faith shown in him by Hearts boss Craig Levein after penning a new three-year contract with the Jambos.
The 23-year-old only joined the capital club from Inverness Caledonian Thistle last summer and, by his own admission, endured a ‘very slow’ start to his career in Gorgie.
However, Mulraney shone in the second half of the season and was arguably Hearts’ star performer in the final weeks of the campaign – culminating in a fine showing in their narrow Scottish Cup final defeat against Celtic in May.
Mulraney told Hearts’ official website: “It’s definitely a confidence booster that the manager wanted me here for another three seasons. Hopefully, I can repay him with some good performances.
“I started last season very slowly and as it went on I probably got a little bit worse up until the end of December, early January.
“Then I started to get more involved, play a bit more and got my confidence back.
“I got into a bit of a rhythm and got games – and it all came good.”
