Before you embark on your fitness journey, keep one thing in mind: fitness is a marathon, not a sprint. Hence, it’s not something you rush yourself into; rather you make a few simple changes in your daily habits while staying consistent. Here are a few simple ways you can keep yourself healthy:
Sleep well: Regardless of how many hours you spend in the gym or how balanced a diet you maintain; without adequate sleep, your body will not get enough rest to process the hard work. Hence, it’s mandatory to sleep for at least seven hours. Sometimes our sleep cycle gets affected due to stress and/or anxiety, and a weighted blanket could act as a much-needed hug from our loved ones.
Eat a balanced diet: Following a healthy diet does not necessarily require you to starving yourself, or eating the same recipe over and over. Instead of depending on a single macro-nutrient for energy, consume a mixture of all food types containing varying nutrients. Try to consume less carbohydrates and saturated fats focus more on proteins. Who doesn’t love chicken and eggs? And there are tons and tons of recipe variety you can try from. Add vegetables and fruits into your daily diet plan for greater fiber-intake, make smoothies out of it, make salad even did you know you could make oatmeal pancakes with berries? yeah! Also, remember to drink at least eight glasses of water every day, especially during the summer.
Exercise, preferably outdoors: To keep your body at its best shape you cannot overlook exercising. Workouts increases mind concentration including efficiency by lowering the stress level. Starting your day with a workout can make way for a productive day throughout. You will feel energetic and proactive. Walking or jogging outdoors every day could help your mind overcome blockages easily and fill it with more productive ideas. Consistency is the key to healthier living with a toned body.
Think positive: A pessimist mind can never lead to a healthy body! While taking physical steps to keep yourself healthy is important, having a jolly and positive mindset is equally important. By filtering the negative thought processes through routine meditation, I learned to control my thoughts and channeled them into forming self-discipline. Be confident in your approach to not only your fitness goals but also about life.
