The Three Chimneys wins top award for Scottish sourcing

A SCOTTISH restaurant has won a coveted prize at an awards ceremony often referred to as the Oscars of the food and drink industry.

The Three Chimneys, on the Isle of Skye, won the Scottish Sourcing (Independent) category at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards which was held last night (23 May) at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh.

The ceremony is now in its 20th year and the iconic restaurant, with rooms, was presented with the prestigious accolade at the bash in the Capital.

The awards programme aims to recognise and reward the very best of Scotland’s food and drink industry, focusing on the standout products which drive value and consumer choice in the Scottish market.

The Three Chimneys, opened in 1985, has been a destination experience for more than 30 years, serving products of both land and sea.

Based within an original Skye croft house at Colbost, by Dunvegan, the restaurant is renowned for serving inspirational dishes that optimise the richness and variety of Scotland’s natural larder, all created by Head Chef, Scott Davies, and his kitchen brigade.

Petri Pentikäinen, General Manager at The Three Chimneys, said: “We’re absolutely delighted with The Three Chimneys’ Scottish Sourcing award win at the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards.

“This reflects enormously upon the efforts of the whole team at The Three Chimneys, and I am incredibly proud of their commitment, particularly the work of the Head Chef in building our network of close, trusted partnerships with the finest producers and suppliers.

“It is wonderful that our ongoing work has been recognised in this way by the Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Awards judging panel.”

In April, The Three Chimneys was purchased by Scots born hotelier Gordon Campbell Gray as part of his new Scottish hotel and restaurant collection, The Wee Hotel Company.
