Luxury country hotel awarded four stars during its 20th anniversary

A luxurious country hotel has been awarded four stars from Visit Scotland during its 20th anniversary.

Cavens Country House, near Kirkbean in Dumfries and Galloway, was founded by the Fordyce family in 1999.

The hotel previously held the Three Star Gold Award for the past ten years before it was awarded the Four Star Gold Award as part Visit scotland’s Quality Assurance Awards.

Cavens Country House is the second Four Star Gold venue in Dumfries and Galloway. The other is Knockinaam Lodge, near Portpatrick.

The £200 a night hotel will hosting a number of events thoughout the year to help celebrate its twentieth anniversary.

The events include a Wine and Wildlife Weekends led by local experts and a celebration dining experiences as well.

The hotel has also been shortlisted for the CIS Excellence Awards in The Independent Hotel of the Year Award category.

“We have held our three stars for ten years and to receive our next star from this prestigious body is great.

“The award comes as we celebrate our twentieth anniversary which is an incredible milestone.
