“Probably the daftest advert in the world” Tennent’s troll Carlsberg over ad outside their brewery

TENNENT’S have hilariously trolled beer rivals Carlsberg after noticing a billboard promoting the Danish lager right outside their Glasgow brewery.

Pictures posted to Tennent’s Facebook show how they have altered the digital billboard on their own building to poke fun at the Carlsberg advert across the road.

The Danish brewer have used the advertising space on Glasgow’s Duke Street to promote their brand with the slogan “New Carlsberg Danish Pilsner. Rebrewed from head to hop.”

Unfortunately for them, the advert is directly opposite the Wellpark Brewery where Tennent’s is homed and they have hilariously responded.

On their own billboard, they have an arrow pointing in the direction of Carlsberg’s ad with the line: “Danish Pilsner? Probably brewed in Northampton.”

The pictures were captioned online by Tennent’s with: “Probably the daftest place to put an advert in the world, Carlsberg…”

Online, Facebook users have loved the incredible response. It has so far been shared over 220 times.

And Ryan King said: “Their patter makes up for their dreadful beer!”

It is not the first time Tennent’s have become hilarious social media trolls.

Last summer, they tweeted US President Donald Trump when promoting their range of small cans.

They said in a tweet to the President: “Hey @realDonaldTrump. There’s been a bit of a heatwave in Scotland recently, so if you get thirsty while you’re here…” along with an ad titled “tiny cans for tiny hands”.
