Hilarious moment dad of Scotland striker Marc McNulty takes a better header than his son

HILARIOUS video shows the dad of Scotland striker Marc McNulty also failing to rise to the occasion in San Marino.

Just a few hours before Marc missed an easy header against the world’s lowest-ranked football team, his dad, Jimmy, spectacularly fell off a bunk bed.

The brilliant clip shows Jimmy, 58, nervously scaling a ladder to the top bunk only to fall backwards as he nears the top.

The footage was taken as Jimmy and other members of the family settled in to their accommodation before the European Championship qualifier.

The clip was taken by Jimmy’s son, Kevin, who was also in San Marino to support his brother’s second international. Kevin captioned his post on Twitter: “Arrived in Italy safely, well nearly.”

Video shows the biscuit factory worker clambering up the ladder and appearing to be look a little worse for wear.

As Jimmy reaches the top of the ladder he realises he has made a mistake.

As soon as he tries to put his foot onto the top step of the ladder, Jimmy appears to have forgotten the ladder is not attached to the bed is trying to get to.

Suddenly, he can be seen falling back, firstly onto his feet and then onto the floor as mate Gary Knox tries to catch him.

Hamilton and former Hibs striker, James Keatings commented: “What a guy man.”

@jaimePKbegbie commented: “F*** sake Jimmy.”

Darren Sutherland said: “A would expect something like this from yourself Kev, but well played fi Jimmy am sure he has a sore neck and back now.”

Jake Hughes said: “Auld Jimmy legend.”

Whilst taking a screenshot of the precise moment Jimmy’s ladder started to fall back, Daniel Valentine commented: “This is the moment he realised he had f*** up.”

His son caught the whole accident on camera

Kevin, 33, today admitted he knew his dad’s bid to scale the bunk would end badly and decided to get the camera out ready.

The bricklayer said: “He’s known to be very accident prone, so as soon as I seen him trying to go up after a few beers just chanced my luck to video him.”

It was reported today that Dad Jimmy was one of the Scotland fans who booed the national side after their 2-0 win on Sunday.

However, Kevin said this wasn’t the case despite his brother missing a header from around six yards that would have boosted the side’s unconvincing 2-0 win.

He added: “Marc joked about when he missed his chance ma dad booed, but even though it was a sitter he couldn’t take the smile off his face seeing his son play for his country.”

Marc is currently on loan at Hibs from English Championship side Reading and has scored six goals since joining in January.
