A Taste of Photojournalism Workshop Set for Second Run

A SUCCESSFUL photojournalism workshop is set for a second run this April.

The weekend-long course which is run by established journalist, Jean West, and award-winning photographer, Alicia Bruce and will teach participants how to create content fit for travel features.

The workshop, which ran its first session in February this year, is set to return on the 27th and 28th of April 2019 at Tribe Porty in the picturesque coastal suburb of Portobello.

The course welcomes absolute beginners, enthusiasts, and experienced practitioners and promises to deliver transferable skills for creatives and business owners looking to update their visual content of their blogs and promotional materials.

Morag Phillips, a student of the February workshop said: “I gained lots of informative tips and insights and the small group of 8 students ensured all of us got individual attention.

“Alicia and Jean were friendly, helpful and experienced in their respective careers and the course has made me enthusiastic in getting more involved with both subjects.”

Those who purchase a place will need to bring along a DSLR camera, a notebook and a pen and should dress for the changeable April weather.

Jean’s writing and Alicia’s photographs have been published in well-known national and international news outlets and magazines which include the BBC, The Times, The Guardian, The Observer, The Big Issue, Marie Claire and Geographical.
