A NEW photojournalism workshop will launch in Portobello this February.

Established journalist, Jean West and award-winning photographer and educator, Alicia Bruce, will lead participants to create their own travel feature fit for a newspaper or magazine.

The two day course will run for the first time on Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th of February at Tribe Porty in the Edinburgh coastal suburb of Portobello.

Beginners, enthusiasts and experienced practitioners are welcome to take part.

The workshop promises to teach transferable skills for creatives and business owners alike.

After purchasing a space on the course all that is required is a camera, a notepad and some winter beach attire.

Jean and Alicia’s writing and photographs have appeared in many well-known national and international news outlets and magazines, including The BBC, The Times, The Guardian, The Big Issue and Marie Claire, and galleries including, National Galleries of Scotland, the Scottish and UK parliaments, Street Level Photoworks and VU (Quebec).
