DISTURBING video shows brazen crooks armed with a golf club carry on trying to steal a car even as security men film them just feet away.
One of the thugs takes a swing at a guard before going back to trying to hotwire a high-value car.
The security guards yell warnings at the thieves until they give up and speed away in a stolen getaway car.
The incident is believed to have happened yesterday at the Royal Mail Hub in Atherstone, North Warwickshire. The footage was shared to social media last night by Syria Sylvia with the caption: “Anyone know them? Reward Waiting”.
Royal Mail have handed the footage over to the police Warwickshire Police who are investigating attempted theft of a Ford Focus from the Royal Mail hub on Riversdale Road.
The clip has been viewed over 500,000 times with over 8,000 people sharing it.
The footage begins with a black Vauxhall with its door being driven towards the filmer who says: “Get this f****r as well.”
The car drives forward in an attempt to intimidate the security guard filming while he gets closer to get a better look at the driver.
Another security guard can be heard telling the filmer to: “Get this c**t here.” Panning over to a thief in a hoodie with an weapon trying to open the door of a lime green car parked nearby.
The filmer shouts: “Oh, get the f**k out of the car.” However the thief covering his face holding a golf club in his hand begins to shout: “f**k you, f**k you” before he takes several swipes at the security guard.
He then tells him to: “Move.”
Before repeating himself while covering his face adding: “You know the best thing to do pal. Move.”
The thugs continue attempting to steal the green car even though the police have been called and they know they are being filmed.
They decide to escape while they still can getting inside the dark blue Vauxhall and drive off.
Speaking today, Adam Feely, Sysia’s partner said: “She was shocked and angry.
“They stole the Vauxhall Zafira from a nearby golf course and changed the number plates.
“I was told they just drove it and tried smashing in to my car. The window was smashed, a dent in door, bit cosmetic damage inside.
“The security guard [who filmed it] wants nothing to do with it at all.”
However, many people were outraged with the video and even threatened to kill the thieves.
Kelly Short wrote: “I can’t believe the guy recording. I’d have took the club off the ct and smashed it across his f******g skull. Sorry thieving b***s. Hope you find out who they are.”
Mikey Warren added: “C**ts mate. Sorry to see this. They need killing f******g a***holes.
Billy Walker wrote: Wtf. Scummy w*****s.”
James Crumpler said: “Fk me mate. It is everywhere around Atherstone and Mancetter at the moment mate. I hope you get the f***s.”
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “This was the attempted theft of a Ford Focus in Riversdale Road, Atherstone, at 11.28 yesterday.
“Two men got out a car and attempted to steal it. Anyone with information that could help police with enquiries should call 101.
“Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
A spokeswoman for the Royal Mail said: “We have handed the footage to the police and they are investigating the matter.”
