HEARTS striker Steven Naismith has been named Ladbrokes Premiership player of the month for September following his blistering start to the season.
The 32-year-old scored five goals in as many matches for the Jambos last month as the capital club cemented their place at the summit of the top-flight.
Naismith’s form also saw him win a recall to the Scotland squad and he capped his return to the international scene by finding the net in a 2-0 UEFA Nations League win over Albania at Hampden.
The former Rangers and Kilmarnock man, who is at Hearts on a season-long loan from Norwich City, has scored 11 goals in 17 games in all competitions as he enjoys a career renaissance at Tynecastle this term.
It is the second successive monthly award claimed by Hearts, with Craig Levein having been named manager of the month for August.
