ENGLAND and Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has tweeted a brilliant response to a fan’s terrible tattoo of him.
The inking looks hilariously unlike Shearer to the former striker posted a selfie in which he screws up his face to look like the tattoo.
The original tribute, on a fan’s back with the words ‘Newcastle United’ and ‘Shearer’, was posted at the weekend.
After it was posted to the Twitter account of the BBC’s Match of the Day programme, on which Shearer regularly appears as a pundit, they responded: “Er… @alanshearer?”
Shearer responded with a selfie in which he pulls a face and the question: “I don’t know what your point is? I think it looks just like me….”
Twitter user seanreddo said: “Sure it’s not Iain Dowie.”
Another added: “Looks more like Les Dennis.”
P_glenn replied: “More like anyone but Shearer lol.”
Hferrisday raised the question: “What’s worse, this or the Ronaldo statue?,” referring to the comical bust of Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo last year.
One of the most scathing replies came from IanThom58770334, who said: “Makes you look like Sloth from the Goonies. S***e tattoo.”
Some other football personalities who have had questionable likenesses inked on fans include the Brazil forward Neymar, Newcastle United’s current manager Rafael Benitez and ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.
