AN ESSEX duo’s video of a “crazy Scotsman” running amok in English shops has gone viral with more than 1.6 million views.
One of the team dons a See You Jimmy wig and raves about everything from Irn Bru shortages to the price of a Fredo chocolate as customers as staff fall about laughing.
The man in front of the camera, an entertainer known only as Hak, carries off his performance with a very passable Scottish accent, crossed eyes, and masses of manic energy.
Kevin Freshwater, who passes Hak his wig in each scenario, posted the video to his Facebook page with the caption: “This is hilarious “CRAZY SCOTSMAN.”
The first scenario sees Hak, in a blue cap, casually reaching up to a shelf in a shop when the Kevin asks him: “Do you think they do any Irn-Bru in here?”
“Why would you ask me if they do any Irn-Bru?” says Hak.
“Because what would the Crazy Scotsman do if they didn’t have any Irn-Bru?” says Kevin, handing over the tartan hat.
“I hate you,” replies Hak, immediately, taking on the responsibility of the role for the purposes of filming.
Donning the hat for the first time, he appears cross-eyed, changing his accent to that of a rugged Scotsman.
He storms through the shop, demanding why there isn’t any Irn-Bru kept in the fridges as the shop owners and Kevin laugh hysterically.
He continues on his angry rampage before the scene switches to another calm scene in a different shop.
This time the source of contention is no longer Irn-Bru, but the price of a Freddo.
“What would the Crazy Scotsman think about it?” says Kevin, handing over the dreaded hat and ginger wig to the reluctant Hak.
Hak then proceeds to take on the Scots persona with a gusto, raging at the perceived injustice of having to pay 25p for a chocolate bar that used to cost significantly less.
Hak takes on the persona of the “Crazy Scotsman” again at a bookies and another shopping market, carting out a shopping trolley of Irn-Bru before he appears to address the viewers one last time, taking on the new role of philosopher.
“Listen you wee b*s,” the Crazy Scotsman says.
“Life’s too short to be messing around. You need to live your life. Enjoy your time here on planet Earth.
“Don’t care about people and what they think.”
Facebook reaction has been strong, with even mostly Scottish viewers finding the funny side.
Laura Watson wrote: “Aye definitely need more. I’ve watched this about twenty times today.”

Stacey Wilcockson commented: “Yaaas. He absolutely kills me Gwaaaaan Hak.”
