Norfolk teacher shows off his Forth Bridge bicep tattoo – in front of the real thing

A PRIMARY school teacher from Norfolk has proudly posted hilarious pictures of his Forth Bridge bicep tattoo – in front of the real thing.

Aaron Hall is Scottish on his mother’s side and decided to get the amazing inking last year for his 30th birthday.

His grandparents live near the southern end of the iconic bridge in South Queensferry, Edinburgh, and Aaron posed up with his tattoo yesterday (Sun).

Aaron, who lives 280 miles away in the town of Dereham used to tell school pals that his grandparents owned the bridge.

Taking to Twitter today, Aaron, a teacher at Thomas Bullock CE primary in Shipdham, wrote: “The only place to show off your tattoo of the iconic Forth Bridge.

“Maybe one day I’ll get a photo on top of one of the bridges.”

In the first photograph, Aaron can be seen standing flexing his right arm as he stands at the beginning of the Forth Road bridge walkway on the north side of the bridge.

In the background, the iconic red Forth Bridge can be seen amongst the picturesque homes of North Queensferry and the Firth of Forth stretching out behind it.

On Aaron’s arm his black-and-white tribute piece to the iconic bridge can be seen as the teacher grins proudly.

In a second photograph, Aaron shared a close up of his tattoo after mile and a half long (2.5km) walk across the bridge to the south – matching up the angle with the rail bridge in the background.

On Twitter, The Forth Bridges account complimented Aaron, writing: “This is awesome.”

To which Aaron replied: “Cheers guys. Who knows on the other arm might end up a Forth Road Bridge and Queensferry Crossing.”

Speaking today, Aaron said: “The bridge is part of a half sleeve I’ve had done to mark my 30th birthday last year.

“I got the bridge done April 3 this year. I have always loved the bridges. I used to tell everyone when I was little my grandparents owned the rail bridge.

“The work was done by Leighanne Devaney of Devaney Tattoo in Norfolk. She’s amazing.”

Aaron added: “I’m half Scottish in my mums side. I come up every year to visit my grandparents who live in South Queensferry. I just love Scotland.”

Asked if he had been across the rail bridge, Aaron replied: “I walk the the road bridge every time I come up. I have travelled across the rail bridge by train a fair few times, and crossed the new Queensferry Crossing yesterday.”

In June this year, a train driver spent hundreds of pounds on a massive picture of the Forth Bridge – even though he had the same view from his window.

Stuart Slicer, from South Queensferry, bought a huge 10ft print at a charity auction and hoped to put it in pride of place on his wall.

The grandad, 58, became an internet hit after his son posted a clip of him with the painting and view both visible from his home.
