Aberdeenshire folksinger, Iona Fyfe, has become one of Scotland’s finest young ballad singers, rooted deeply in the singing traditions of the North East of Scotland.

She was a nominee for Scots Singer of the Year at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards 2017, and has been described as “one of the best Scotland has to offer.”  (Global-Music.de) She was a 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival sell-out.

Her debut album Away From My Window offers innovative interpretations of ballads, self-penned and contemporary songs, whilst remaining sympathetic to the traditional songs which Iona grew up listening to.

She is performing at the Acoustic Music Centre (Venue #138) on Saturday 18th August at 7:00pm as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Her music can be viewed on her YouTube channel here.

Iona was nominated for “One to Watch” and “Best Live Performance” at the Sunday Herald Scottish Culture Awards 2018.
