STORY Pocket Theatre presents David Baddiel’s ANiMALCOLM adapted from the bestselling book. The story follows Malcolm’s weird and wonderful journey of discovery of life with animals.

ANiMALCOLM combines physical performances with enchanting music and puppetry. A fun day out for children as well as grown-ups.

The Scotsman describes ANiMALCOLM as “Spending time with Story Pocket Theatre is like curling up in a warm bed, and being read a story while you nibble on a piece of toast… Well-loved, well-delivered and very well received stories.”

Malcolm is a young boy in a home full of pets, one problem, he doesn’t like animals.

Malcolm really wants a new laptop for his birthday. Instead, Malcolm receives a pet chinchilla and a ticket for the annual three-day school trip to a farm.

During the most bizarre weekend adventure, Malcolm learns at close hand what it’s like to be an animal and starts to appreciate just how amazing animals really are.

Along the way, he also learns that sometimes it’s hard to become yourself.

ANiMALCOLM has an award-winning team including designer Jackie Trousdale, who has worked for Birmingham Stage Company’s stage show on David Walliams’s Gangsta Granny and Awful Auntie as well as the Horrible Histories shows.
