COMEDY Star Katherin Ryan has announced she is to perform a one-night only show in Edinburgh during the Fringe 2018.
The Canadian funny woman has become a fixture on UK television shows from Mock The Week to 8 Out Of 10 Cats, among many others.
As a result, her latest touring show, Glitter Room, has been a total sellout during 2017 and 2018. Now it has been announced the show is coming to the Edinburgh Playhouse on Thursday, August 16.
Such is single mum Ryan’s success that she is the first Canadian woman to have a worldwide Netflix special. She was only the second British-based comedian (after Jimmy Carr) to have a Netflix Original Comedy Special released globally.
Now UK-based, the star of Netflix’s ‘Kathrine Ryan: In Trouble’ and Comedy Central’s ‘Roast Battle’ and ‘Your Face Or Mine’, she is a writer, performer and stand-up comedian who is enjoying stellar succes both in the UK and abroad.
She is also currently working in the US on The Fix, a brand new panel show for Netflix, alongside Jimmy Carr. Katherine recently became the first woman to host Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, taking the host chair for a special episode to commemorate women’s suffrage in the UK. It will air later this year.
‘Kathrine Ryan: In Trouble’ was filmed at the Hammersmith Eventim Apollo, and released to 190 countries in February 2017. Watch it here. Katherine performed a set on TBS’ The Conan O’Brien Show in the US, to publicise the special.
