ONE WOMAN’S embarrassing journey from Child Star dreams to inadequate adulthood as she discovers ‘How (not) to’ achieve your dreams, find love and do it with your dignity intact production.
Fearless Players present Lydia Davidson’s one woman show, Confessions of a Child Star to Edinburgh Fringe audiences in 2018.
The show is a unique, uplifting combination of comedy and cabaret that will have anyone who has ever been unsure in their life saying,“Oh I’ve been there!”
Using well known songs from pop, rock and folk genres she weaves together a familiar narrative that every millennial, 20-something will relate to. From embarrassing childhood memories to cringe worthy adult attempts at fame and fortune.
“I wanted to create a piece that was both familiar and surprising.” says Davidson. “I use true stories from my childhood to late twenties and the music that was popular at the time to punctuate it. I think most people will relate to at least part of the show”
She continues: “I hope the audience will leave this show feeling uplifted. It is a balance between cringe-worthy moments that you can’t help but laugh at and some more genuine moments that you can relate to, but overall it is a reflection of the human experience of striving for success and the inevitable bumps along the way.”
