THE PEOPLE behind this boisterous lip-syncing show which is judged by a series of drag artists, issue a warning to those considering taking part.
With tongues firmly in cheeks, the organisers insist: “Attending Lip Sync Lollapalooza highly increases the probability of waking up the following morning in a skip, coated in glitter with a bloke called Derek. You’re welcome.”
Hailing from York, the award-nominated cult queer club night will bring its colourful clubbing atmosphere to Just The Tonic in the Grassmarket Centre.
Assorted drag acts and comedians will battling it out on stage with each hoping t be named the 2018 Edfringe Lip Sync Champion.
It is hosted by the Haus of Dench Queens including: Crudi Dench (infamous for the “Dragphobia” scandal in this year’s Celebrity Big Brother) Kate Butch (Best Comedy Show award at the 2017 Buxton Fringe, Runner-up Not Another Drag Competition 2018), Fanny Snatcher and Kylie Jennerous.
With special guests, audience games and DJ sets of cheesy camp hits and modern booty-shakin’ mash-ups, they promise that Lip Sync Lollapalooza will be a comedy/cabaret/club night hybrid like no other.
