WHAT DOES a Vietnamese-Australian comedian have in common with a Scottish audience?
How about A) a healthy disrespect for authority, B) love of a bargain, C) a fondness for lager, D) a wariness of American tourists (especially ones bringing agent orange), or E) All of the above?
If you answered ‘E’ you may well want to get yourself along to to Thao Thanh Cao’s show at Edinburgh Fringe in 2018.
Thao’s propositions is that inappropriate answers come up all too often from simple questions, like when is the best time to enjoy a packet of crisps? Or what’s the most entertaining way to avoid family functions?
Thao originally wanted to be an actress but was disheartened because she didn’t see many Asians on TV – unless it was on Border Security or Bondi Rescue. So she gave up her dream and decided to give stand-up comedy a go instead.
In this free show, Thao shares observational humour and throws in many one-liners and funny stories. Despite the show title Appropriately Inappropriate, Thao claims to be politically incorrect and only half-jokingly advises this is not a show for the easily triggered.
