A SCOT has put his wedding ring up for sale online – revealing that his bride of 16 days has run off with another man.
Andy Mitchell posted a picture of the wedding rings he and his wife swapped during the £30,000 dream wedding ceremony in Mexico on June 3.
Andy, from Kelty, Fife, informed the world that he found out six days later that Meaghan was having an affair, and claimed it had started on her hen night.
The taxi service manager, who wants £400 for the wedding bands on Facebay Fife, also posted images of texts he claims were swapped between Meaghuan and her new man.
Meaghan, 21, also from Kelty, today admitted she had left Andy for another man but insisted they had not slept together until after the wedding.
The couple married in Akumal Bay Beach Resort, Mexico, at a lavish wedding attended by friends and family, on which they personally spent £6,000.
Photos of the wedding on Facebook show the apparently happy couple frolicking on the beach with their well-dressed guests.
But barely a fortnight later Andy, 40, decided to make a very public statement that their marriage was over.
He posted on Facebay Fife, advertising the rings: “Hi, recently I got married in Mexico on the 23rd of June and this was the wedding set I used while Meaghan Mitchell said her marriage vows.”
He claimed: “However, six days later I found out she started having an affair on her hen night and it carried on for eight weeks through our dream wedding.”
The previous day he posted a series of what he claims were screenshots of his wife’s phone that appeared to show an intimate conversation between two people.
Andy said he was more “shocked than hurt” when he found out.
He said: “We had no secrets. We trusted each other completely.
“I managed to get her phone off her and locked her outside.
“I read all the messages and took pictures.
“All her friends and family are embarrassed. They don’t want anything to do with her.”
Meaghan today admitted going off with another man but denied cheating on him before the wedding.
She said: “We did not have sex on our hen do – it was after the wedding. I didn’t do anything on my hen night.
“We know what we’ve done and take full responsibility. I was young and naive when I first got with him.”
Andy said today: “It was a dream wedding in paradise. The wedding cost about £30,000 and for us personally it was between £5000/6000.
“We came back to Scotland after having the best time of my life. “We had no secrets. We trusted each other completely.”
He added: “On the following Friday she was going out with friends, I’m going somewhere else. I come home from the pub. She’s still not home.”
Andy said he did not sleep or eat for three days after finding out his new wife had run off. “This has been my worst ever break up,” he said.
Andy admitted that he stole Meaghan’s mobile out of her hand and then checked the messages.
“We both knew the codes for each other’s phones,” he said. “I checked all the messages, it had 8 weeks worth of messages with this guy.
“Everybody is embarrassed. She was sleeping in her car and now the two of them are staying in hotels in Dunfermline.
“Her mum is no speaking to her. All her friends do not want to speak to her. She’s only got this guy because she is so desperate.”
The day after the wedding, on June 4, Andy wrote: “On behalf of my wife and I, we would like to thank each and everyone of you.
“Perfect location with the most unbelievable looking woman I have ever seen in my life.
“She looked sensational, no sorry in fact words can’t describe how beautiful she was – a wedding only most can dream about and we made it reality. For all those doubters, get it up ye.”
But just five days later he found out about the affair and took to social media again.
He wrote on Facebook: “Worst thing about it all is some struggled to afford Mexico, some couldn’t go and were gutted to miss the big day.”
Posting again on June 19 he claimed: “Last night she was greeting and begging for me to take her back.”
Facebook friends of Andy Mitchell ganged up online on the Meaghan and her new man.
Charles Gill branded them:“Pair of f****** scumbags.”
Amber Wallace wrote: “That’s f****** terrible, she shouldn’t have married you if she was f****** about.”
Katie Jane Harpin commented: “Chin up. Don’t know why she would go through with the wedding whilst having an affair. Am shocked.”
