A CABBIE has posted a bizarre video of a man cradling his “guide rabbit” and ranting about getting chucked out of nearby pubs.
The man, wearing dark sunglasses and clutching a rabbit decked out in a high-visibility harness, complains bitterly that bars serve “f****** dogs”.
The clip, filmed in Inverness, has been viewed more than 68,000 times since it was uploaded yesterday (Thu).
Local taxi driver Donald Maclennan spotted the strange scene and wandered up to the man and his rabbit while taking video on his phone.
The man tells Donald: “I went in, and he says, ‘I’m no serving you with that f****** rabbit’, and I says, ‘Well you served every other b******’.”
After claiming to have been chucked out of the “Keg” and “Market” bars the man continues: “Well they serve f****** dogs, and he said, ‘Well he’s no a f****** dog’ and I said, ’no he’s no, he’s my guide rabbit’.
“I’ve got a lead as well, but they said, ‘Oh no get out of here’.
“So I went to Monty’s and she said to me just now, ‘Oh you’re not allowed in here either’.”
On social media, Connor Adams wrote: “Hahaha what the f***.”
Jon Rogan-Josh wrote: “Haha, awesome. ‘It’s a f****** guide rabbit’ in stitches now lol.”
Brooke Finnie wrote: “Inverness has all the best people.”
Niamh Clowery wrote: “Dunno why they wouldn’t serve him, seems legit.”
Another user claimed they had spotted the man around the town.
Neil McCartney wrote: “I came out of Ben Wyvis kilts this afternoon. Seen a bloke on the ground under a taxi shouting that he’d lost his rabbit.
“Thought I was losing the plot. Apparently no.”
Speaking today, Donald explained: “I’m a taxi driver and I was sitting outside the train station about 3pm and I just saw this guy over my shoulder and I said to the other drivers, ‘Is that a rabbit?’.
“So I just went over and started talking to him and filmed it and the rest is what you see really.
“After that he let the rabbit off the lead to let him go to the toilet. He was running around the car park.
“And I thought he was under my car at one point so I was worried about him but the guy said he’d be fine.
“I just like people like that, local people that’s what we’re all about in Inverness.”
Entertainment Manager of Market Bar, Shirley Wyness, 56, said: “I was here all day yesterday and I didn’t see him and haven’t hear anything.
“I can’t think why he wouldn’t be served, unless he has been refused service himself.
“We wouldn’t refuse a rabbit, we are an animal-friendly bar.”
Staff at both The Keg and Monty’s also said they had no knowledge of him attempting to enter and be served yesterday afternoon.
Facebook users subsequently claimed to have since identified the rabbit as the same one featured in the a private Facebook page called ‘Dan the people’s Rabbit’. Dan and his owner, Kevan Macrae, live in Nairn, Highlands.
