Hearts are closing in on a deal for Copenhagen winger Danny Amankwaa, according to reports in Denmark.
The 23-year-old is one of four players who have been told they are free to find new clubs this month having made 12 appearances, including five substitute outings in the Champions League and Europa League, for the Superliga outfit this season.
Hearts manager Craig Levein has made no secret of his desire to bolster his options on the flanks and is thought to have targeted the former Denmark under-21 internationalist.
Amankwaa made a total of 34 appearances during the 2014/15 campaign before his season was cut short by an Achilles injury, and has since failed to pin down a regular place in the side.
Speaking earlier this month, Amankwaa admitted that he would consider leaving Ståle Solbakken’s side.
He said: “I will always listen to the offers I get, we must see what happens. I’m not happy at all, I feel I’m good enough to play.
“I’ve had some injuries but I’m patient and believe very much in myself.
“I’ve done everything I can to get back and I think I’ve done well.
“So the amount of playing time is of course not satisfactory.”
Hearts manager Levein has already recruited Steven Naismith and Demi Mitchell on loan from Norwich City and Manchester United respectively this month.
