Brazen gull caught on camera making third crisp packet theft from Greggs

HILARIOUS video shows the moment a brazen seagull nips into Greggs to steal a packet of crisps – which he shared with a pal outside.

The chain has previously been targeted by gulls but the bird menacing the store in Ayr High Street is a repeat offender, having struck three times.

Caitlin Hamilton, from Ayr, posted the video to twitter after spotting the gull while she was on a break from work.

The 21-year-old had been having a bad day, and was immediately in stitches after capturing the bird snatch a packet of Walkers salt and vinegar crisps.

The four second video has now had over 161,000 views since it was posted yesterday (WED).

Caitlin posted the video, which now has over 7,900 likes, with the caption: “Ayr’s got the hardest seagulls.”

The short clip begins with the brazen gull perusing the crisp selection inside the high street store.

The bird decides on a packet of salt and vinegar crisps, grabs it in his beak and, pausing to make sure the coast is clear, bolts out of the door.

Although it was not captured on video, another gull was waiting outside and the pair quickly devoured their ill-gotten gains.

Speaking today, Caitling said: “I was just sitting minding my own business when I looked at the door and the seagull just walked in, looked at the crisps then pinched them and ran out the store.

“He even shared them with his wee pal outside. It honestly had me in stitches, especially as I was having a bad day.”

She also added in comments: “This is his third time doing it, you’d think they’d put the crisps up higher.”

Social media users went wild for the clip, which was shared widely across the internet.

Patrick McDonough joked: “Did he come back for the rest of the meal deal?”

While Deyzah noted: “Terrible choice of flavour though.”

John Spence added: “Greggs getting robbed again.”

Chrispurs commented: “Salt and vinegar, let’s see how hard he is eating them.”

Alan Johnson added: “You should see the b******s in Dundee.”

While John Darrien said simply: “Evil b******s.”

One notorious bird, dubbed Steven Seagull, has been terrorising a Greggs bakery in Arbroath, Angus, up to ten times a day.

The brazen bird swoops down on the Arbroath bakery up to ten times a day, for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

However, staff have vowed they will “never call the police on him” as he is the stores “most loyal regular”.

Another peckish Seagull, this time in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, was captured on film stealing a packet of crisps in October 2017.

The bird successfully attempted the same heist three times last year.
