PHILLIP Schofield has filmed himself battling an alarm that won’t stop going off – before smashing it to pieces with a hammer.
The This Morning presenter filmed himself shouting “Die, die, die” as he batters the “unkillable” alarm.
The 55-year-old, who was up a ladder at the time, screams “What the hell? What the f***?” as the high-pitched alarm blares in the background.
The presenter cuts multiple wires, and even ends up smashing the alarm to bits with a hammer – but it refuses to stop even once it has been disconnected.
The TV veteran filmed the drama unfolding on his snapchat account, but the footage has been widely circulated on social media – racking up over 300,000 views.
Social media users have gone wild for “relatable” clip and called the presenter a “legend”.
The footage is thought to have been taken over the weekend, and was uploaded to twitter by user madisonxcamila on Saturday.
The two minute long video begins with an alarm blaring in the eaves of an apparent outbuilding at the presenters home.
The picture was captioned: “Old disconnected alarm! Hasn’t made a sound in 20 years. Wtf?”
Schofield then climbs up a ladder to deal with the ear-ringing noise, and immediately begins to hit the alarm with a hammer.
However, despite smashing it to pieces and cutting the wire – the noise continues and Schofield groans in disbelief.
He can be heard saying “What the hell? Where’s this sound coming from?” before he discovers another part of the alarm in a different part of the roof.
Schofield shouts over the high-pitched beeping: “I’ve found another one, who the hell are you? What do you do? Who are you?”
After lamenting over the fact that he and his family may be stuck with the screeching noise over the Christmas period, the presenter cuts another wire – and the alarm continues to blare.
A despondent Schofield groans “It’s like f****** bomb disposal” as the alarm screeches in the background.
The clip then cuts to a small white alarm attached to a wooden beam – and Schofield blasts it with a hammer in the hope of making the noise stop.
Hilariously he screams “Die, die, die, die” as he batters the alarm almost 40 times.
The next clip shows a laughing Schofield pointing to the “unkillable” alarm, which lies on the floor still beeping away.
Laughing he points out that it is “not even connected” – but one final whack of the hammer finally brings the presenter a bit of silence.
The 55-year-old sighs with relief and a big grin appears across his face.
Social media users went wild for the hilarious clip, which has now been retweeted over 8,000 times.
User Meg said: “What a legend. I love him.”
Gilly added: “That has made my year, thank you.”
James Wilson commented: “This is brilliant 10/10.”
Marf said: “If this ain’t the most relatable s* ever.”
While FlissyLow joked: “Schofields house up for robbing now.”
Schofield also filmed himself getting merry earlier this month – as he conducted a home gin tasting and talked fans through the different drinks.
The presenter tried lavender, cardamom, and rhubarb gins as he progressively got tipsier, sharing his opinions on each to his snapchat followers.
