LOUIS LONGRIDGE has confessed he faces a big decision on his future in January when his loan deal at Falkirk runs out.

The Hamilton Accies forward joined the Bairns on Tuesday on a two-month agreement that expires on January 3.

The move was instigated by the 26-year-old, who had become increasingly frustrated by his lack of game-time at Accies, where he has started just three league games this season.

Falkirk manager Paul Hartley is hopeful the attacker will take out his exasperation on the Championship’s defences in the next two months, starting with rivals Dunfermline on Saturday.

And Longridge is convinced the switch will prove beneficial to both parties before he contemplates his next move in the New Year.

He said: “I’m pleased to be here. The opportunity to get back playing football is the most important thing at this stage of my career.

“It’s a big opportunity for me to come and express myself at a big club, and hopefully I help the team jump up the league.

MINUTES

“I’ve been participating quite a lot at Hamilton this season but, at this stage in my career, I’m looking at starts and racking up as many minutes as I can, rather than coming on in games and trying to exert influence that way.

“I went to the [Hamilton] gaffer a few weeks ago and said I was concerned about not getting enough starts or enough opportunity from the start of games.

“We left it a couple of weeks to see how things panned out but we have now agreed it’s best for me to go out on loan until January and maybe get the minutes needed.

“It was a case of stop-start and I couldn’t get a run of games to let everything fall into place. Because of the stop-start nature of it, my only conclusion was to come out on loan until Christmas.

“I have a decision to make then, but before then I’m at Falkirk and hope it’s a successful spell here.”
