A HILARIOUS video shows the moment a sparky had his £60 boots turned pink by pals as punishment for taking the day off to watch football.
Mark Jeffries suffered the misery of seeing his beloved Hearts lose 1-0 to Hibs in the Edinburgh derby on Tuesday.
But things got much worse for the 23-year-old the following day when he discovered his work boots covered with pink hairspray.
The prank by workmate Alex McNeil, 20, worked brilliantly because the hairspray wouldn’t come off – meaning Mark was mercilessly ribbed all day.
The video shows Mark open the back of a work van to be confronted by his now fuschia-pink boots.
Alex, filming, and the rest of the workers erupt into laughter while Mark, with a wry smile, dumps the boots on the ground before bending down for a closer inspection.
A second video shows Mark walking along the street wearing his new snazzy footwear with the hilarity still ensuing, and Alex says: “Rocking them new boots mate.”
Alex posted the videos to his Twitter page, saying: “That’s what happens when you take the day off for the football”, and “Look even better on.”
Brad Philp picked up on Alex’s funny laugh, saying: “Your laugh man”, and Alex replied: “Belter.”
Two users named ‘Milligan’ and ‘Carter’ both replied with two crying with laughter emojis.
Speaking yesterday (wed), Alex said: “I’m the apprentice and he’s my tradesman at work. He had been at the Hearts-Hibs game.
“It’s pink hairspray, it was me that put it on. He had to wear them rest of the day – he tried cleaning them but it never really came off.
“We were working on a building site so don’t see the customers but he got slagged all day from the other plumbers, joiners, etc.
“Everyone found it hilarious and just took the p*** out him all day.”
