Moment driver almost hit head on – as he takes cat to vet following second road accident

DRAMATIC video shows the moment a motorist is almost hit head-on by another vehicle – as he takes his cat to the vet for treatment following a road accident.

In the clip, a reckless van driver misses the dashcam vehicle by a few feet following a crazy overtake in Essex.

The incident happened as the dashcam motorist took his poor moggy, Sammy, to have his tail amputated after he was run over just two days earlier.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, the unfortunate feline lost an eye and “half its brain” when it was hit by a car for the first time eight years ago.

The dashcam, driver, who does not want to be identified, was near Chelmsford on Saturday when the van driver suddenly appeared on the wrong side of the road.

The white Ford Transit van overtakes a silver Ford Focus approaching a blind corner.

Forced to take evasive action, the dash cam driver mounts onto the grassy verge as the Focus is seen braking to allow the van back into the correct lane.

According to the dash cam driver, the van driver appeared to be “holding something” whilst driving.

He said: “My initial reaction was of course instinctive, break sharply, check mirror for cars behind and check that the cat basket was not going to fly off the seat.

Posting the clip online, the driver wrote: “Taking my cat to the vet for a checkup after he was hit by a car – nearly a double-whammy!”

The driver added: “Sammy, the cat in question. He took on a car tyre with his tail to go with the one he challenged with his head about eight years ago.

“Down to last one or two lives now I reckon, one eye, half a brain and now half a tail. Oh and a huge amount of £££”

One social media joked: “Still more of a brain then the van driver in the vid tho…”

Another wrote: “Hope cat recovers soon and what an idiot other driver was.”

Whilst one other responded: “Phew a second away from you all needing medical treatment”
