“Do you want to get killed?” Amazing moment airline passenger runs back to jet

AN astonishing video shows the moment an airline passenger sprints from her shuttle bus and back to the aircraft.

The woman, who is thought to have left an item onboard, dashes from the bus and runs around the back of the jet.

Ground staff at Edinburgh Airport eventually spot the woman and she is escorted away from the aircraft and runs back on to the bus.

The passenger is then sternly confronted by a member of ground staff who tells her: “That was unbelievable.”

The woman could have been injured or killed by the Norwegian Air Shuttle’s jets or hit by a service vehicle. She could also have dropped an item near an aircraft, putting other passengers at risk.

The Norwegian flight arrived yesterday (MON) at Edinburgh from Providence, Rhode Island.

The woman, who is thought to have left an item onboard, dashes from the bus and runs around the back of the jet.

The woman, carrying a plastic shopping bag and wearing a sun hat, dashes around the tail of the plane, putting herself at serious risk.

Vehicles and members of staff can be seen moving around behind the aircraft, but the woman appears unfazed and runs directly towards them.

The unidentified woman can be seen running up to a member of staff at the front of the plane, before she starts running back to the shuttle bus.

A member of staff then approaches the vehicle and approaches the rogue passenger. She said: “Can I ask you madam, what are you doing?”

To which the woman simply replied: “Sorry.”

The unidentified member of airport staff gives the passenger a stern warning. She said: “It is absolutely not allowed. Do you want to get killed?”

The passenger sheepishly replied: “No. Sorry.”

The staff member added: “That was unbelievable.”

Inflightvideo posted the video to YouTube with the caption: “Disembarking our flight at Edinburgh having just arrived from Providence, Rhode Island, USA.

“One passenger suddenly decides to run off of the bus and across the tarmac, underneath the aircraft. She is sent back by a baggage handler and given a stern talking to by the handling representative.”

Social media users were quick to comment on the post, and theorise why the woman would make such a shocking decision.

Ove Aleksander Langeland-Finne said: “I suspect she suddenly remembered that she forgot something and she wanted to letting them know. But this is absolutely not the way to do it.”

Gareth Churchill added: “She’s lucky she wasn’t instantly arrested. Clearly a security breach.£

Gabrielle Gipson commented: “I’m sure she lost a bet or something silly like that.”

Edgar Sintanneland said simply: “A sudden case of brain failure?”

A Norwegian spokesperson said: “The unanticipated actions of the passenger were dangerous and whilst these incidents are very rare, Norwegian takes them very seriously.

“The safety and security of our passengers, crew and aircraft are of paramount importance and our ground staff are currently investigating this matter further to prevent rare situations like this happening again.”

The flight from Providence, Rhode Island arrived in Edinburgh at 9:44am on Monday 28 August.

Police Scotland said the incident had not been reported to them.
