HEARTS misfit Conor Sammon has joined Premiership rivals Partick Thistle on loan for the rest of the season – and could face Celtic tonight.
The towering striker arrived at Tynecastle amid much fanfare last summer, penning a three year contract after being released by English Championship outfit Derby.
However, the 30-year-old found himself the target of the Jambos boo-boys after scoring just two goals in 26 appearances and he spent the tail end of last term on loan with previous club Kilmarnock.
Sammon, who was afforded a cameo from the bench in Hearts’ 4-1 defeat against Celtic last Saturday, had been linked with Killie, Dundee United and St Johnstone during the close-season, but the Jags have won the race for his signature.
If, as they expect, Hearts receive SFA clearance this afternoon, he will be eligible to face the Hoops at Firhill this evening.
