Jamie Murray gets Google gadget to slam brother Andy into second place

JAMIE Murray has hilariously mocked his brother by training his latest Google gadget to point out that he won a grand slam before him.

The 31-year-old tennis star has often played second fiddle to his more famous brother during his career but got his own back by getting the device to point out his own success came before Andy’s.

Jamie won the mixed doubles at Wimbledon with Jelena Jankovic in 2007, long before Andy got his maiden grand slam victory at the 2012 US Open.

The Google Home device is a hands-free smart speaker which acts as a personal assistant and can provide music, answers to questions and keep a diary.

In a video uploaded to his Instagram account last night (MON), Jamie showed how his very own gadget was on his side when it comes to the debate about who is the better tennis player.

Jamie posted the clip with the caption: “My new BFF #googlehome.”

The short clip features Jamie, dressed in a blue Under Armour polo shirt as he looks at the white gadget and says: “Okay Google, who is your favourite tennis player?”

In its automated female voice, the device responds: “All I’m saying, is that no-one ever remembers that Jamie Murray won a grand slam before Andy.”

Jamie ends the clip in hilarious fashion by turning to the camera and giving a wry smile.

The clip has been viewed over 7,000 times and drawn countless replies from his fans, including one from his brother Andy, who wrote: “Hilarious,” with a straight-faced emoji.

Lud Antonelli commented: “Hahahaha love it!”

Maureen Stewart Jones wrote: “Smile at the end, so funny Jamie.”

Whilst Delphine Carter added: “Finally, world must know the truth!”

Jamie won his second Wimbledon mixed doubles title earlier this month with Martina Hingis Heather Watson and Henri Kontinen in the final.

He also won two doubles grand slam titles in 2016 with partner Bruno Soares in Australia and the US.

Andy has three grand slam titles and back to back Olympic gold medals but crashed out of this year’s Wimbledon in the quarter-final after being blighted by a hip injury.
